Year 12 Parents Evening Thursday 3rd November

Dear Parents/Guardians

Please be reminded that we have a parents evening for all students in year 12 this thursday 5pm - 8pm in upstairs B Block, above the library. All students should already have made an appointment for you to see their tutor or made an alternative arrangement if you are unable to attend. In the event of your son/daughter not making you aware of this event and not passing on the invitation letter last term, please contact their tutor urgently.

We look forward to seeing most of you on thursday.

YEAR 13 UCAS

Tomorrow representatives from local universities will be looking at your personal statements and you will not be going home until your forms are complete! For some of you this will pose a problem as you do not appear to have done anything since June ( Sam Bartrop for example)! Some of you do not have a form started at all (Elliot Buckle: David Browning: Lloyd Finch: George Payne) - so I will be seeking you out very early in the day!

You have 12 hours to sort this out!

Induction Day

Dear All

Please note that tomorrow lunchtime there will be a poolside BBQ and swim, so please bring your swimming gear and a small amount of money to purchase lunch if required.

Mrs King

5th July - Induction Day and Parents' Information Evening

Welcome - welcome to all our new Year 12s and, in the evening, their parents.

A prompt 9am start (you can go in the Common Room!) - the programme will be put up on the Common Room doors.

We spend all day doing vital preparation for September (if you miss this you will need to contact us urgently as you may not be able to start courses) as well as getting to know each other.
You will spend time with your tutor group and with Year 13 and all your questions should be answered. It will be an enjoyable and informative day.

In the Evening the structure of new A levels and BTecs will be explained, there will be opportunities for Parents to meet tutors and familiarise themselves with the new website for the Sixth Form - and to sign up for email contact.

We very much look forward to seeing you.
PS: Everyone wish for sun!

THURSDAY 9TH .. Academic Review and entry to Year 13

Hello.. hello
A reminder to all you A level students returning to the Sixth Form to enter Year 13. The Academic Review on Thursday is the first step to enrolment and you need to be in the Theatre at 9am. On this day you will also start your 'Problem Solving' activities and commence applications to university. Please reset your body clocks so  you arrive on time!
MOST IMPORTANTLY - the next day... 9am sharp.. departure for UCS. YOU MUST BRING LUNCH WITH YOU... there are not facilities to buy food at the university and very little locally, so, unless you are looking to lose some weight, please ensure you have food with you.
Looking forward to seeing you all on Thursday

Assembly Notices

Dear All

For those of you that were unable to attend assembly this morning these are the notices:

Sixth Form Parking - Letter received from Cornfields Nursery concerned about the speed of drivers going past. Please make sure you crawl past, otherwise you may lose your right to park on school premises.

Council Elections - These will be held at 1.30pm tomorrow lunchtime in upstairs B Block. A very disappointing response for applicants. We currently have NO applicants for Tuck Shop Managers! Please email me by 9.30am tomorrow if you would like to apply. If nobody applies then the Tuck Shop will be closed indefinitely & you will lose a big source of income for your prom next year.

Council Lunch - There will be a lunch provided to the new & old council members on friday upstairs B Block. Please come & enjoy some free Pizza!

Year 13 Leavers Day - Friday May 27th. After a leavers breakfast with your tutor you will all go to the Theatre. All tutor groups should be working on a 30 minute celebration presentation.

Year 12 - Your last day for lessons is friday 13th May, unless your subject teachers have requested a continued attendance for lessons/revision. You will return on June 9th, however, if your Career Management Module is incomplete/on red (check with your tutor) then you must return on 6th June to complete it.

Thank you
Mrs King

Summer Approaches?!?

What a beautiful day! Let's hope I don't spoil it for you all.

Firstly - a reminder about COURSEWORK DEADLINE DAY next Thursday 31st March at 9am. Everyone needs to hand in coursework for those subjects that have it, at 9am upstairs B block. There will be a box for the individual subjects (INCLUDING CAREER MANAGEMENT MODULES)and a list to sign. Failure to meet this deadline will result in suspension folks - so make sure you are sorted.

Secondly - may I draw your attention to the DRESS CODE. This is a place of work, not the beach. Short skirts, shorts and leisure wear are not acceptable and you will, just as if you were at work, be asked to go home and change if you are not dressed appropriately. Check the student/parent guide in your planner or on the website if you are not sure! Please avoid embarrassment to yourself and others.
